Mauermann was also named the League's Co-Defensive Forward of the Year.
Mauermann becomes the second Friar to earn the Hockey East Sportsmanship Award and the third to claim Best Defensive Forward honors.
The Friars will play the 19th-ranked Huskies at 8:00 p.m. at Matthews Arena.
