Cody Loughlean, a 2004 graduate of Providence College begins his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Friars. In four seasons at Providence College, Loughlean recorded 20 goals and 30 assists for 50 points in 139 career games. He helped the 2000-01 Friars to a tie for second place in the Hockey East standings. In addition, the Friars advanced to the Hockey East Tournament Championship game and earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament. After Providence College, Loughlean played one season for the Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League. He then served as an assistant hockey coach at Ohio University, where he also attained a master's degree in recreation and sport sciences in 2006. Loughlean worked at the Harvard Department of Athletics for one year before moving on to W.B. Mason where he is an Outside Sales Representative. A native of Innisfail, Alberta, Loughlean currently resides in Stonington, Conn.with his wife, former PC softball player, Sarah Morin '02. The couple has an eight-month old daughter, Lily.
