2012-13:Took part in the 2013 Calgary Flames Development Camp ...Named the Hockey Commissioners' Association (HCA) National Division I Rookie of the Year at the Frozen Four, becoming the program's first National Rookie of the Year ... Also named to the 2013 CCM All-America Second Team (East), as announced by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA), becoming the program's 17th All-American ... He is the first Friar to earn All-America honors since Stephen Wood was named to the Second Team in 2003-04 and the third Friar goalie to be named an All-American, joining Chris Terreri (First Team 1985 & Second Team in 1986) and Nolan Schaefer (Second Team in 2001) ... Gillies went 17-12-6 on the year and posted a Friar record five shutouts ... His five shutouts tied for the third-most in the country ... Finished the year with a 2.08 goals against average, the second best mark in program history for a single season and it ranked 15th nationally ... Missed three games while capturing the gold medal with Team USA at the 2013 World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia ...
