Men's Hockey Team Captains Announced

Senior defensemen Kevin Hart and Steven Shamanski will serve as team captains.

2012-13: Played in all 38 games and registered six assists ... Led the team with a +17 plus-minus rating ... Also blocked 34 shots ... Played in his 100th career game in Providence's 2-2 tie at Maine (2/1) to, along with his father Randy Velischek, become the first father-son duo to each play 100-career games in a Friar uniform ... Tied his career high with two assists in PC's 3-2 win at UVM (11/2) ... Signed with the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) following the season and played in three games (0-1-1).

2011-12: Took part in the 2012 Pittsburgh Penguins Development Camp ... Played in 32 games and totaled seven assists ... Posted an assist in a 5-3 victory over No. 7 BU (10/14) ... Recorded one assist in a win over Vermont (11/5) ... Had one assist in a win at No. 1 Merrimack (12/3) ...
