PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College junior guard Bryce Cotton (Tucson, Ariz.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday, December 24. Cotton earned the honor after he led the Friars to a 1-1 mark last week, which included a 33-point effort versus Boston College on December 22.
Cotton scored 54 points in two games. He averaged 27.0 points in a 1-1 week for the Friars. Cotton scored 21 points in the Friars win versus Colgate on January 18. On December 22, he scored a game and season high 33 points after shooting 7-14 from three point territory. For the week, Cotton was 17-36 from field (47.2 percent), including an impressive 12-25 (48.0 percent) from three point territory. He also shot 8-10 from the free throw line and made four steals. Cotton only had two turnovers while averaging 35.5 minutes per game. Cotton leads the league in scoring and ranks sixth in the nation, averaging 22.0 points per game. He also has scored 21 or more points in eight of the 10 games he has played this season. He has scored 30 or more points two times this season.
