PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
The Providence College men's basketball team volunteered at Feed 1,000 Rhode Islanders on Saturday, Dec. 15. The event was held at the Rhode Island Convention Center in downtown Providence. The team assisted over 200 other volunteers with distributing donated goods and feeding the event's attendees. This year Feed 1,000 served 1,874 meals, distributed 2,000 care packages, coats, hats & gloves and over 500 toys.
Feed 1,000 is a developing non-profit organization founded by owners Ray Jorgensen, Rich Santilli, and Robert Skeffington of the Pawtucket, R.I. based PMG, Inc. They encouraged fellow business owners to contribute to this event with monetary donations, or by donating supplies (e.g., warm coats, gloves, hats, scarves, toilet paper, baby wipes, lip balm, travel size toiletries), and/or volunteering for the day of the event.
