PROVIDENCE, R.I. - 

On Saturday, January 17, 2009, Providence College will celebrate the grand opening of the Joe Calabria Hallway of Legends. Thanks to a generous gift from Joe Calabria ’65 and his wife Sugar, the men’s basketball hallway underwent a complete renovation and now includes photographs, interactive flat screen televisions and memorabilia that tell the storied history and tradition of Providence basketball.

“I am truly appreciative of the generous contributions made by Joe and Sugar,” Head Men’s Basketball Coach Keno Davis said. “The Calabria Hallway of Legends is a testament to the tradition of Providence basketball and will be a tremendous asset in our recruiting efforts.”

All Friar fans are welcome to attend the grand opening ceremony on Saturday, January 17, 2009. The event will begin at 3:00 p.m. and tours of the new facility will be given from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

Later that evening, Providence College will host the Second Annual Men’s Basketball Alumni Game at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Come to the Dunk’ to watch your favorite Friars from every era compete against one another in a fun filled game. To gain free admission to the alumni game, you must have a ticket to the men’s basketball game that night against Marquette University.

That night, return to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center to cheer on the Friars as they tip off against Marquette University at 9:00 p.m. in a key BIG EAST matchup.
