PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced today (Nov. 19) that Providence College junior guard Bryce Cotton (Tucson, Ariz.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll. Cotton led the Friars in scoring in three games last week in which he averaged 25.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists. The junior guard leads the BIG EAST in scoring, as he is averaging 24.5 points per game for the season.
Cotton has scored 21 or more points in all four games he has played this season. Last week, he scored 24 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished off six assists in the team's 81-49 win over Bryant on November 12. On November 15, Cotton scored 23 points and added five assists in a loss to UMass at the Puerto Rico Tip Off. He finished up the week by scoring 30 points, registering five rebounds and recording five assists in the Friars' win over UNC Asheville at the Puerto Rico Tip Off on November 18.
In the three games, Cotton shot 42.3 percent (11-26) from three-point territory. He also was 29-36 (80.6 percent) from the free-throw line. Cotton played all 40 minutes of each game.
The Friars, 3-2, will return action on Friday, November 23 versus Fairfield at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
