Men's Basketball Student Season Ticket Sales Surpass 1,000

    Nov. 3, 2009

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- It was announced today that Providence College has sold 1,001 student season tickets for the men's basketball games. It marks the first time since the 2004-05 season that the athletics department has sold more than 1,000 student season tickets.

"The support from our students has been tremendous," Providence College Athletics Director Bob Driscoll said. "With an enrollment just over 3,900 students, it is impressive that we have more than 1,000 students purchasing season tickets. Over the last year we have seen our students really get behind the basketball program. We want to continue to build on the excitement and enthusiasm that we had at our home games last season."

The Friar Faithful, which is a student group committed to supporting athletics, has played an important role in helping boost the season ticket sales. The more than 450 members of the Friar Faithful have worked very hard to help get the students interested in purchasing tickets.

Providence College students can still purchase season tickets for $99. In addition to a ticket for every home game at the Dunkin' Donuts Center, student season ticket holders receive a Friar Fanatic t-shirt and transportation to and from the College for the home games. Students interested in purchasing season tickets should visit the Providence College ticket office in Alumni Hall or call 401-865-GO PC.
