Friars To Play On A Newly Designed Court At The Dunkin' Donuts Center

Sept. 26, 2017

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College Athletics Department announced today (Sept. 26) that the men's basketball team will play on a newly designed court at the Dunkin' Donuts Center this season.

The new design features the Friars' primary logo at center court. In addition to the logo, the playing surface, which is named for former Providence legendary Coach Dave Gavitt, displays the name Dave Gavitt Court near the sideline opposite the Friars' team bench. The BIG EAST logo is located in each key. The wordmark "Providence" is located on each baseline. The sideline in front of each team bench displays the name of the College's athletic website, Friars.com. The name of the arena, Dunkin' Donuts Center, is located on the playing surface in front of the visitors' bench.

Also new to the court will be a uniquely colored three-point arc that is a lighter shade than the other portions of the playing surface. Lastly, the portion of the court surrounding the playing surface is painted black.

Providence will play its first game on the newly designed court when the team opens the exhibition season versus Carleton University on Saturday, October 28 at 4 p.m. at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

Friar season tickets can be purchased Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the PC Ticket Office in Schneider Arena, at Friars.com or by calling (401) 865-GOPC.
