PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College announced its 18-game BIG EAST men's basketball home-and away-opponent schedule on Wednesday, July 2. For the second consecutive season, the Friars will face 12 opponents once and three teams twice. Once again, all BIG EAST Conference games will be televised by CBS Sports, the ESPN family of networks or ESPN Regional Television.

Providence will play Cincinnati, Rutgers and Villanova at home and on the road in 2008-09. The Friars will host BIG EAST rivals Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Syracuse at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Other league home games will be against DePaul, Marquette and St. John's.

In addition to playing at Cincinnati, Rutgers and Villanova, the Friars also will travel to Connecticut, Georgetown, Louisville, Seton Hall, USF and West Virginia.

Dates and times for all the Friar men's basketball games will be released in the fall.

Fans interested in purchasing men's basketball season tickets can visit the Providence College Ticket Office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall or call (401) 865-GO PC.
