PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College Friar men's basketball team will play 24 opponents during a very competitive 27-game, regular-season schedule in 2003-04. Highlighting the Friars' home schedule will be two games against teams that advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 2003, including defending champion Syracuse. The Friars also will host Final Four participant Texas. Other 2003 NCAA participants that the Friars will host at the Dunkin' Donuts Center are Alabama and Pittsburgh (Sweet 16). A total of 16 of the team's 24 opponents in 2003-04 are coming off post-season appearances, including seven that qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
