Men's Basketball To Play In 2012 Puerto Rico Tip Off

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- It was announced on June 6 that the Providence College men's basketball team will play in the 2012 Puerto Rico Tip Off in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 15, 16 and 18. The Friars will join North Carolina State, UNC Asheville, Oklahoma State, Penn State, UMass, Tennessee and Akron to make up the eight team field for the tournament.

    It will mark the second time the Friars have played in the Puerto Rico Tip Off. Providence played in the inaugural Puerto Rico Tip Off in 2007 and posted a 2-1 mark, losing in the championship game to Miami. The Friars have posted a 78-56 record all time in in-season tournaments.
