PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- On April 13, prospective student-athlete Brian Rudolph (New Bedford, Mass.) signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Providence College beginning in September 2006. Recently, Rudolph pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Today, Providence College Head Coach Tim Welsh made the following statement regarding Rudolph, "At this time Brian Rudolph is a prospective student-athlete. As with all our prospective student-athletes, they have to fulfill a number of requirements. Those are both academic and personal. With any prospective student-athlete, we will not comment on their current or future status until they are enrolled at Providence College."
