PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- It was announced that Providence College freshman forward Bilal Dixon (Jersey City, N.J.) was named to The Sporting News BIG EAST All-Freshman Team. Dixon, who started 30 of the Friars' 31 games, finished fifth on the team in scoring (8.2 ppg) and second in rebounding (6.2) rebounds per game.

Dixon was one of the top freshmen in the BIG EAST Conference this season. He led all feshmen in rebounding (6.9 rpg) and blocked shots (1.72 bpg) in BIG EAST play.
