PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced on Monday, March 5, that Providence College men's basketball junior guard Vincent Council (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Second Team by NETSCOUTS. Council is one of only 12 BIG EAST athletes to be recognized by the organization.
Council, who registered nine double-doubles this season, led the Friars in scoring with 15.9 ppg and played in a BIG EAST leading 38.7 minutes per game, on average. He led the BIG EAST in assists for the second consecutive season, as he averaged 7.5 assists per game. This average also ranks fourth in the nation. With a career total 561 assists, he is 101 shy of tying the Providence College record of 662 career assists, set by Ernie DiGregorio in 1973.
