Men's Basketball To Face Seton Hall In BIG EAST Championship First Round

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- It was announced that the Providence College Friars will enter the BIG EAST Tournament as the No. 15 seed. PC finished the season in 15th place in the BIG EAST with a 4-14 mark. As the 15th seed, the Friars will play the No. 10 seed, Seton Hall, on Tuesday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. on ESPNU. The Friars (12-18) and the Pirates (18-11) just faced each other in the final game of the regular season with Seton Hall earning a 92-80 win at Providence on March 6. The Friars have posted a 45-41 mark all-time versus the Pirates, including a 2-3 record in BIG EAST Tournament action. The last time the two teams met in the BIG EAST Championship, Seton Hall defeated the Friars, 85-65, on March 8, 2000. PC's last win over Seton Hall in the BIG EAST Championship was a 77-75 victory on March 6, 1985.
