PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College honored three of its greatest former men's basketball players of all time on Friday, March 7 with a dinner and jersey retirment ceremony at the Westin Hotel in Providence, R.I. The festivities continue on Saturday, March 8 when banners honoring the trio will be unveiled in the rafters of the Dunkin' Donuts Center at halftime of the Providence College vs. Villanova men's basketball game. Tip-off for the men's basketball game is slated for 7:30 p.m. and will be televised live on Cox Sports.

The ceremony and unveiling of the banners serves to recognize the tradition that Walker, DiGregorio and Barnes helped to establish. All former Providence men's basketball players have been invited to attend the game and participate in the halftime ceremony on Saturday.

Prior to the men's basketball game, an alumni game has been planned to begin at 4:00 p.m. The game is not open to the public, but will be streamed live (video) via Providence's athletic web site at www.friars.com. Providence College All-Access subscribers may obtain the video stream through their existing subscriptions used to view and listen to regular-season Friar athletic events. Anyone wishing to subscribe to the video stream of the Alumni Game, please visit the All-Access link on the main page of friars.com.
