PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced on February 25 that Providence College sophomore forward LaDontae Henton (Lansing, Mich.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll. Henton was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after he led the Friars to a 1-1 record last week.
Henton averaged 16.5 points and 11.5 rebounds, while shooting 46.7 percent (14-30) from the field, including 66.7 percent (4-6) from three-point territory. Henton recorded his ninth and 10th double-doubles of the season last week. Henton recorded 15 points and 13 rebounds in a loss at No. 8 Syracuse on February 20. He also registered 18 points and 10 rebounds in a win at Rutgers on February 23. Henton is first on the team in rebounding (8.3 rpg) and third in scoring (13.7 ppg).
The Friars (15-12, 7-8) return to action on Saturday, March 2 versus St. John's at 8:00 p.m. at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Tickets for the game are still available and can be purchased at friars.com.
