PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The 1987 Providence College men's basketball team that advanced to the Final Four, will be honored by school President, Father Brian J. Shanley O.P., and Athletics Director Bob Driscoll in a 25th anniversary ceremony. The ceremony will take place on the court during halftime of the Providence men's basketball game versus Louisville on Tuesday, January 10, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
The Friars, who posted a 25-9 record during the 1986-87 season, defeated Georgetown in the Elite Eight to advance to the Final Four in New Orleans and take on Syracuse. Players from the Final Four team, including Ryan Ford, Darryl Wright, Carlton Screen, Dave Kipfer, Jacek Duda, Ernie "Pop" Lewis and Del Ray Brooks will be in attendance at the game on Tuesday.
