    Providence, R.I.- The Providence College men's basketball team lost to Brown, 69-68, on Friday (Dec. 28) at the Pizzitola Center. It marked the team's fourth loss this season.

    Sophomore LaDontae Henton (Lansing, Mich.) led the Friars with 11 points during the first half. Providence was tested by Brown who started off the game on a 12-5 run. The Friars pressured the Bears with a full court 1-2-2 press, which accounted for 6 turnovers. Providence then responded with a 6-0 run to close out the half, giving them a 34-31 lead heading into the locker room.

    The Friars started off the 2nd half playing at an up tempo pace, which forced the Bears into five quick turnovers. Henton started his own run by going on a 24 point scoring run himself, allowing the Friars to take a 65-58 lead with two minutes to go. But the Bears responded with a 9-1 run lead by Junior Tucker Halpern who scored two big three's with 45 seconds left. Halpern led brown with 28 points.

    Henton finished with a new career high 37 points. This is the third time that Henton has scored more than 20 points in a game this season. Kadeem Batts (Powder Springs, Ga.) was the team's second leading scorer with 10. Senior Vincent Council (Brooklyn, N.Y.) returned from his hamstring injury and led the Friars with nine assists.

    The men's basketball team will play their next game in Louisville (Ky.) on January, 2 at 7:00 p.m.
