ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Providence College men's basketball team was defeated, 81-75, by Saint Mary's College in the final day of the 76 Classic in Anaheim, Calif. With the loss, the Friars finish the tournament with a 1-2 mark and a sixth place finish.

Providence came out sluggish in the first half as Saint Mary's continually built on their lead until it got to a high of 20 points on layup by Patrick Mills with 52 seconds remaining in the half. Saint Mary's ended 20 minutes of play with a 48-28 advantage.

In the second half, the Friars increased the intensity and started to chip away at the lead. PC started a 16-3 run with 14:13 remaining in the game when Weyinmi Efejuku scored on a dunk. The Friars got the lead down to eight points (63-55) with 9:06 left in the game. Sharaud Curry made a layup with 4:43 remaining to get the Friars within six points (72-66), but PC would not get any closer the remainder of the game.

Jonathan Kale had an impressive game for PC with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Efejuku added 11 points in the loss.

Patrick Mills had a game-high 24 points for Saint Mary's.

Providence will return to action on Wednesday, December 3 versus Brown at the Dunkin' Donuts Center at 7:00 p.m.
