    Ira Bowman played two seasons for Providence, averaging 4.0 career points before transferring to the University of Pennsylvania after the 1992-93 season. He was the 1995-96 Ivy League Player of the Year.

    In the NBA, Bowman played for the Philadelphia 76ers and the Atlanta Hawks from 1999-2001, appearing in 17 career games. He also competed with the Grand Rapids Hoops of the Continental Basketball Association in 2002 and the Australian NBL's Gold Coast Rollers in 1996.
