PC Swimming and Diving gets ready for the 08-09 season.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence Head Coach John O'Neill announced the Friars' 2008-09 Swimming and Diving schedule today, August 13. The ambitious slate has the Friars competing six times at home while also visiting both Washington, D.C. and Indianapolis, Ind.

The Friars will open their season by hosting Patriot League Conference member Lehigh University at the Taylor Natatorium. The team then travels to Washington, D.C. and will compete with Patriot League member American University, Atlantic-10 Conference member George Washington University and Big East rival Georgetown University.

Next the Friars will travel to long-time rival Fairfield University before returning home to host Atlantic 10 Conference member University of Rhode Island. Bryant University will face the Friars at Providence closing out the first semester dual meets. The Friars will then compete in the Annual Harold Anderson Invitational at the University of Rhode Island.

The Friars will spend the semester break after the holidays traveling to St Thomas for winter training and return to face the Maine Black Bears. The team then returns home to face the Atlantic 10's Drexel Dragons and welcomes Big East rival Villanova to PC for the first time. The Friars close out their dual meet season facing Patriot League rival Holy Cross at Providence.

After competing in the New England Invitational, the Friars will travel to Indianapolis, Ind for the Big East Championships, competing at the world famous Indiana University/Purdue University-Indianapolis Natatorium, site of multiple Olympic Trials, National and International competitions.
