PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Collegiate Swim Coaches Association of America released the Spring 2009 Scholar All-American team selections, and Providence's men's and women's teams each achieved the distinction. Providence was one of 238 colleges and universities to earn the honor based on a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The women's GPA of 3.44 ranked 14th in the nation among Division I schools, and second out of BIG EAST Conference schools. The men's team was one of only 57 Division I men's schools to earn Scholar All-America accolades. The men's team posted a 3.04 GPA, finishing 49th nationally, just ahead of Duke University.
