Providence College Swimming and Diving Teams Earn Scholar All-America Distinction

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced today (June 19) that the Providence College men's and women's swimming and diving programs were named to the Scholar All-America team based on their academic success during the 2018 spring semester.

NCAA Division I, II, and III, as well as NAIA and NJCAA teams, are eligible for the distinction, which is awarded to all teams with a combined GPA of at least 3.0. In total, 710 teams earned Scholar All-America status for the 2018 spring semester.

The Friar men posted a 3.18 grade-point average, while the women posted a 3.60 grade-point average for the spring semester, setting a new team record.  The BIG EAST was one of four conferences to have both men's and women's programs of each school appear on the Scholar All-America list.
