The men's swimming and diving team defeated Holy Cross, 220-76, on Saturday, January 30 in Worcester, Mass. The women's team fell to the Crusaders, 170-127.

In the meet, freshman Eric Burtchell (Pawtucket, R.I.) qualified for three BIG EAST class A events and junior freestyle specialist Alexis Fatigati (New Milford, N.J.) made the cut in the 200 freestyle event. Burtchell qualified in the 100 and 200 backstroke and the 200 IM.

The men's team posted impressive victories throughout the meet, including a win in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:44.58. The men's squad placed first in all but one of the 16 events they competed in.

The swimming and diving teams are back in action on Saturday, February 6, when they travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass. for the New England Invitational. The meet is set to start at 11:00 a.m.
