KINGSTON, R.I. –The Providence College men’s and women’s swimming and diving team competed in the Harold Anderson Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I. on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1. The women’s team took second place with 620.50 points and the men’s team tied for second with Bryant University, scoring 769 points.
The men’s team saw multiple victories from sophomore Justin Tse (Framingham, Mass.) and John Fatigati (Mahwah, N.J.) Tse earned first place in the 500y freestyle after finishing the event in 4:44.87 and the 200y freestyle, winning in 1:44.85. Fatigati took first in three events over the two day invitational, winning the 200y IM (1:57.59), the 400y IM (4:10.56) and the 200y backstroke (1:57.72). Sophomore Daniel Murphy (Cos Cob, Conn.) won the 100y breaststroke in 1:00.33, while senior Chris Morales (Ridgewood, N.J.) won the 200y butterfly in 1:59.19. Senior Ben Kardian (Valhalla, N.Y.) won the 1m diving event, collecting 269.10 points and finished second in the 3m diving event, scoring 231.40 points. Senior Allie Black (Mystic, Conn.) won the 1m diving competition, scoring 265.10 points.
28 Friars have now met the BIG EAST Qualifying Standards following the event. The updated list of Friars that will be heading to Indianapolis, Ind. for the BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships thus far are:

The Harold Anderson Invitational marks the last event for the Friars for the calendar year. The Friars will return to the pool when they host Wesleyan on Saturday, January 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Taylor Natatorium in Providence, R.I.
