Swimming And Diving Hold Senior Meet Against Georgetown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

Providence College swimming and diving hosted Georgetown University on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Taylor Natatorium in Providence, R.I. As part of the senior meet, the graduating seniors were honored prior to the start of swimming events. The Friar men were defeated, 133-96, while the women's squad was topped, 129-106.

Three friars swam their way to first place on the day. Jerod Magazine (Coto De Caza, Calif.) was first to the wall in the 800-meter freestyle (9:10.80). Sophomore Paige DeLago (Norwalk, Conn.) bested the field in the 200-meter butterfly (2:29.83). Senior Katie Ainley swam a 2:52.50 in the 200-meter breaststroke to earn first place as well.

Providence College returns to the pool on Wednesday, Feb. 25 for the first day of the BIG East Championship in East Meadow, N.Y.
