The Providence College men's swimming and diving team hosted Villanova at the Taylor Natatorium in Providence, R.I. on Jan. 14. The Wildcats outpaced the Friars, 130-68.
After dropping the first nine events, sophomore Ryan Trammell (Lake Mary, Fla.) notched a first place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:32.14).
In the final event of the day, the 200-meter freestyle relay, the Friars posted another first place (1:41.51). The relay team consisted of freshman Patrick Brannigan (Darien, Conn.), sophomore Ricky Billig (Sudbury, Mass.), junior Charlie Sabaitis (Spring Lake, N.J.), and senior Zach Begnaud (Natchitoches, La.).
The Providence College Friars return to the pool at home in Providence, R.I. on Saturday, Jan. 21 to take on the Holy Cross Crusaders.
