Marshon Brooks Attends Paul Pierce Skills Academy Providence College junior forward/guard Marshon Brooks (Stone Mountain, Ga.) attended the Paul Pierce Skills Academy at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass. on June 28-30. The camp was a three-day training session which was part of the Nike Skills Academies. It was one of four position specific camps that Nike sponsors. Ten collegiate and 17 high school shooting guards from around the country were invited to attend. > Full Story

Former Friar Weyinmi Efejuku Leads Jamaica To Gold Medal At... Former Providence College guard Weyinmi Efejuku (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) led Jamaica to the Gold Medal on July 4 at the Caribbean Basketball Championship at Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. In the championship game, Efejuku scored 16 points in a 65-61 win over the British Virgin Islands. Efejuku led the Jamaican team in scoring at the CBC, averaging 20 points per game while helping his team post a 4-1 mark. > Full Story

Jaime Lipski Selected To Attend Junior National Camp Providence College junior field hockey player Jaime Lipski (Dallas, Pa.) was selected to attend Junior National Camp. The announcement was made by USA Field Hockey on June 30. Lipski will vie for a roster spot on the U.S. Under-21 Junior National Team that will compete in the Junior World Cup in Boston, Mass. from August 3-16, 2009. > Full Story

The Collegiate Swim Coaches Association of America released the Spring 2009 Academic All-America team selections, and Providence's men's and women's teams each achieved the distinction.
