Athletic Director Bob Driscoll Named To ECAC Board of Directors

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Board of Directors, with President/CEO Dan Coonan, announced today the appointment of Bob Driscoll, director of athletics at Providence College, to the ECAC Board of Directors. Mr. Driscoll will serve a three year term as a representative of the Division I membership.

“We are so pleased that Bob Driscoll is joining the Board of Directors of the ECAC,” said Coonan. “Bob has done such a great job at Providence, and is so incredibly well respected nationally and within our footprint, he will be a tremendous addition to our group.”

“It's an honor to have Bob Driscoll join our board,” said Jay Moran, chair of the ECAC board of directors and director of athletics at Southern Connecticut State University. “His experience, his knowledge and love of intercollegiate athletics will be an asset to the board. In my career, I have heard nothing but praise about Bob!”

Entering his 16th season as Providence College’s Associate Vice President & Athletics Director, Bob Driscoll has transformed and reinvigorated Providence College’s athletics program. Having established a vision of student-athlete success in the classroom and in the community while competing for championships, Driscoll maintains focus on leading, fostering and mentoring one of the nation’s most respected athletic programs.

“I am excited and appreciative of this opportunity to serve on the ECAC Board of Directors,” said Driscoll. “In addition to the ECAC being a tremendous conference, I am looking forward to working with Dan {Coonan} and other members of the board. I have known Dan for a number of years since we worked together at Cal and I have always admired his vision and leadership.”
