Cox Sports Television To Showcase Providence College Fall Sports Action
Aug. 13, 2007 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Cox Sports Television (Cox Ch. 3) will provide exclusive coverage of a variety of Providence College athletics this fall, including men's soccer, women's soccer, field hockey and women's volleyball. Friar action on CST will kick off on September 14 as the women's soccer team takes on non-conference foe Hartford (tape delay). PC's field hockey team, coming off of an 18-4 season in 2006 in which it was ranked among the top-20 for nine-straight weeks, will take on BIG EAST foe Louisville on September 30 (tape delay). On October 13, the Friars' women's volleyball team will take on in-state rival Rhode Island in a live television broadcast. Fall sports coverage concludes with the men's soccer team taking on Notre Dame in a BIG EAST match-up on October 28 (tape delay). The men's soccer team has made back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament and will be led by First-Team All-America selection and Rhode Island product Ryan Maduro (Bristol, R.I.) in 2007. Inside Friartown returns this fall on Cox Sports Television. Hosted by Shawna Hassett, the monthly show features interviews with PC student-athletes and coaches, season previews and highlights, a inside look at athletic department events and much more. Joining Hassett for a second straight year will be former PC women's ice hockey player Sonny Watrous, who will serve as a reporter.
