Providence Athletic Director Robert G. Driscoll Promotes Three Members Of The Friar Athletic Department Staff

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Athletic Director Robert G. Driscoll announced the promotions of Arthur Parks to Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications, Jen Rynearson to Sports Information Director and Jorge Rocha to Senior Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations. Parks was the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations. Rynearson had been the Senior Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations and Rocha was Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations.

"These promotions are an important step in improving our marketing and media relations," Driscoll said. "Our goal is to create a clearly defined message for the Friar Athletic Department. I felt that the best way to reach this goal was by merging the marketing and media relations into one entity."

Arthur Parks began his tenure at Providence College in 1995 as an assistant sports information director. In 2000, he was promoted to Director of Athletic Media Relations. Since 2000, he has served as the media relations contact for the Friar men's basketball team. In 2003, he was promoted Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations. A 1991 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Parks earned a master's degree in sport management in 1994 from West Virginia University.

Rynearson has worked in the Providence College Athletic Media Relations office for over five years. She arrived at Providence in January of 2001 and served as Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations before being promoted to Senior Assistant Director in June of 2002. Prior to her appointment at Providence, Rynearson held positions at Princeton University, Southern Connecticut State University and the Little East Conference. She received a bachelor of arts degree in communications/human relations from Western Connecticut State University.

Rocha began at Providence College in 2001 as a graduate assistant in the sports information office and was promoted to the full-time Assistant Sports information Director position in 2002. He also served as an intern in the Athletic Media Relations office at UMass Lowell prior to arriving at PC. Rocha graduated from Franklin Pierce College in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in communications/journalism and received a master's degree in history from Providence College in 2005.
