Providence College Finishes Fourth In Division I-AAA ADA All-Sports Trophy Standings

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

It was announced last week that Providence College finished fourth in the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association All-Sports Trophy standings for the 2008-2009 season.

The Friars accumulated 200.50 points in the standings. Providence tallied points in men's and women's cross country along with men's and women's track and field.

Denver finished first among all Division I-AAA institutions, followed by UC Irvine and Boston University. Vermont followed Providence in the standings and rounded out the top five.

Providence also earned All-Sports Trophies in women's cross country, women's outdoor track and men's indoor track for the 2008-2009 season. This is the second year in a row in which the Providence College track program received an All-Sports Trophy, with women's outdoor track receiving the award last year.
