Providence College Women's Athletics Tied For 32nd In Final Capital One Cup Standings

    Providence College women's athletics is tied for 32nd in the final standings of the 2013-14 Capital One Cup. The Friars accumulated 20 points for their NCAA title in women's cross country, are tied in the standings with Clarkson and Sam Houston State. Clarkson earned 20 points by virtue of its NCAA title in women's ice hockey, while Sam Houston captured the NCAA crown in women's bowling.

    Providence and Clarkson are No. 1 in the rankings among non-FBS/FCS (non-football) institutions. Providence also tops the BIG EAST in the rankings. Butler is second among BIG EAST institutions (44th, 10 points), followed by Georgetown (59th, six points) and St. John's (68th, five points).

    Florida won the Capital One Cup with 152 points. Rounding out the top-10 in the final standings are UCLA (110 points), Stanford (106 points), Maryland (94 points), Texas A&M (89 points), Connecticut (80 points), Oregon (80 points), Texas (80 points), Penn State (72 points) and North Carolina (68 points).
