Providence College Athletic Teams Combine To Achieve A 3.04 Grade-Point Average During The 2008 Spring Semester
June 9, 2008 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College's 19 varsity athletic programs combined to achieve a 3.0417 grade-point average during the 2008 spring semester. It was announced by the College on Monday, June 9. The women's volleyball team led the way with a 3.4589 team GPA, while the men's basketball team was recognized for making the greatest improvement in team GPA, with an increase of .4055 from the fall term. In all, eight programs recorded a 3.0 GPA or better (cross country and track are recognized as one program). In addition to volleyball, the other programs that achieved a 3.0 GPA or better include: women's soccer (3.3074), women's tennis (3.3017), women's cross country/track (3.2674), women's swimming & diving (3.2097), field hockey (3.1381), men's cross country/track (3.0963) and men's swimming & diving (3.0109). - FRIARS -
