Providence College would like to thank John Marinatto, '79 for his years of service and devotion to The Big East Conference. John worked tirelessly and effectively on behalf of the Big East during his tenure- as he did while employed at Providence College - for the betterment of the Conference and all of its members.

The past three years have been a very tumultuous time in the history of collegiate athletics and for many of the major athletic conferences as well. We recognize the considerable amount of work that went into the realignment of The Big East, and we are grateful for John's efforts in helping to stabilize and strengthen the Conference's position to where it is today. As it stands, the expanded Big East heralds an exciting future for all members of the league, old and new alike, and positions us favorably for the television negotiations we will undertake later this year.

We wish John the very best as he moves forward to a new chapter in his life. He will always be a part of the Friar family.
