Friars.com Introduces Mobile iPhone Application
Feb. 1, 2010
Friars.com unveiled Friars Mobile today, the official iPhone application of Providence Athletics. Friars Mobile offers iPhone owners easy access to up-to-the-minute news, scores, schedules, rosters and streaming audio and video for the 2009-2010 school year. Friars Mobile is $4.99 per year and can be downloaded from the iTunes store or from the App Store on your iPhone.
The application provides iPhone owners an interface that gives them immediate mobile access to essential information from friars.com, the official athletic web site of Providence Athletics. The initial launch of Friars Mobile will include access to the following features:
Breaking news, by sport, available exclusively from friars.com
Updated score, schedule and venue information for each contest, and results from past events.
Complete schedules for each sport by date, time, location and opponent. Includes home and away team rosters and bio information for each athlete.
Select on-demand audio and video clips, as well as streaming audio for select live events.
Future versions of Friars Mobile may include access to:
- Subscription access to premium audio and video content through your iPhone. Subscribe to Providence All-Access and experience premium multimedia when you're away from your computer.
- Live play-by-play through GameTracker.
The Friars Mobile iPhone application is only compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch and requires iPhone OS 2.0 or later.
