Providence College Student-Athletes Post Highest Cumulative Fall Semester GPA In Over 10 Years

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -During the Fall 2011 semester, the Providence College student-athletes posted a combined GPA of 3.03. That is the highest fall semester GPA the student-athletes have reached in over 10 years.

    The women's soccer team maintained the highest combined GPA with a 3.43 overall. The team also posted the greatest improvement in its GPA from Fall 2010 to Fall 2011 with an increase of .37. For the men, the swimming and diving team posted the highest combined GPA with 3.12 for the Fall 2011 semester.

    Overall, 82 student-athletes qualified for the Dean's list as they registered a 3.55 GPA or higher. Also 206 (57 percent) of the student-athletes had a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the Fall 2011 term and 179 (50 percent) boast a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
