Ross Mauermann was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team. Mauermann is the first Friar to be named to the All-Rookie Team since 2007 when defenseman Mark Fayne earned the honor. Providence College was named Hockey East Team of the Week, while freshman forward Ross Mauermann was tabbed Hockey East Rookie of the Week on Monday, March 12. It's the fourth time this season that the Friars have earned the league's team of the week honors. For Mauermann, it's the first time he has garnered the league's rookie of the week accolade.

1-0, in the decisive game of a best-of-three Hockey East Quarterfinal
series Sunday afternoon at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Mass. With the
win, the Friars advance to the Hockey East Semifinals where they will
meet Boston College on Friday, March 16 at the TD Garden in Boston,
Mass. The Friars, who become the first No. 7 seed to advance to the
Hockey East semifinals, will make their first Hockey East semifinal
appearance since 2001.

first playoff victory since 2005.

Tsongas Center in Lowell, Mass. With the win, the Friars take a 1-0 lead in the
series. Game two is at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9 at the Tsongas Center.
