    Former Friars Featured In Today's Providence Journal

    Today's Providence Journal features former Friars who have helped the New Jersey Devils reach the Stanley Cup Finals which begins tonight.  FULL FEATURE 


    Former Providence College hockey standouts Lou Lamoriello '63 and Mark Fayne '10 will lead the New Jersey Devils in the Stanley Cup Finals, beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30 on NBC.  The Devils, who ousted the top-seeded New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Finals, will play the Los Angeles Kings in a best-of-seven series.  FULL RELEASE

    Former Providence College hockey defenseman Mark Fayne '10 recorded a career-high two assists to lead the New Jersey Devils to a 5-3 victory over the New York Rangers on Wednesday, May 23 in game five of the NHL's Eastern Conference Finals at Madison Square Garden.  The Devils lead the best-of-seven series, 3-2, and game six will be at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.     The Providence College men's hockey program will hold its Annual Shawmut Design & Construction Golf Reunion on Friday, August 17 at Pawtucket Country Club in Pawtucket, R.I. Join Friar Head Coach Nate Leaman along with many prominent current and former Friars as well as friends of the program for the golf outing.     Former Friar defenseman Mark Fayne '10 recorded his first career playoff assist as he helped the New Jersey Devils defeat the Philadelphia Flyers, 4-2, on Sunday, May 7 in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.  New Jersey leads the best-of-seven series, 3-1, and Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8.  BOX SCORE & HIGHLIGHTS

    Providence College hockey Head Coach Nate Leaman announced on Thursday, May 3 that student-athletes Mark Jankowski (Dundas, Ontario) and John Gilmour (Montreal, Quebec) each have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend PC.  FULL RELEASE
