The Providence College men's hockey team defeated No. 7 UMass Lowell, 1-0, in the decisive game of a best-of-three Hockey East Quarterfinal series Sunday afternoon at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Mass. With the win, the Friars advance to the Hockey East Semifinals where they will meet Boston College on Friday, March 16 at the TD Garden in Boston, Mass. The Friars, who become the first No. 7 seed to advance to the Hockey East semifinals, will make their first Hockey East semifinal appearance since 2001.
