Providence (10-11-2, 8-7-1 HE) defeated
No. 11 UMass Lowell (14-7-0, 9-6-0 HE), by a score of 1-0
Tuesday night at Schneider Arena. Senior goaltender Alex Beaudry recorded his second shutout of the season in the
victory. It marked Providence's first win over UMass Lowell since
November 24, 2009.

beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 20 at Agganis Arena in
Boston, Mass. The two teams will complete the weekend series at 7:00
p.m. on Saturday, January 21 at Schneider Arena in Providence. Friday's game
will be aired live on NESN.

each scored twice to lead the way for the Friars who earned
their first win of 2012. It also marked
Providence's first win at Vermont since December 1, 2007.

Former Friar Colin McDonald '07 made his debut with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, January 6 against the New York Rangers. In all, he has played two games.
Prior to being called up, McDonald was playing for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. In 33 games, he had eight goals and 20 assists for 28 points. During the 2009-10 season, McDonald made his NHL debut with the Oilers and scored one goal. FULL STORY

Massachusetts skated to a 4-4 overtime tie Thursday night in a Hockey
East game played at Schneider Arena. In a back-and-forth contest, the
Friars scored with 1:39 left in the third period to take a 4-3 lead, but
the Minutemen forced overtime as they scored with 37 seconds remaining.
