    Friars Skate Past Vermont, 5-2

    Providence skated past Vermont, 5-2, Friday night at Schneider Arena.  The Friars trailed early, but jumped ahead with two goals late in the first period and never looked back.  Tim Schaller scored his first career hat trick with two power-play goals and a short-handed goal.  Ross Mauermann and Derek Army also scored for the Friars who recorded their first win over Vermont since February 9, 2008.
