The Friars battled in the second of the back-to-back nights at Maine, but came up short, 3-1.  Providence trailed early on, but red-shirt freshman Damian Cross scored on the power play to even the score at 1-1.  Derek Army and Stefan Demopoulos assisted on the goal.  The deciding goal came 23 seconds into the second period as the Black Bears led the rest of the way.  The Friars pressured the Black Bears late in the third period as they pulled goalie Alex Beaudry for an extra skater, but could not score the equalizer.  Maine added an empty netter to seal the win.
