The Providence Hockey program held the first ever "Summer in September: A Night to Celebrate Providence College Hockey" on Saturday, September 24 at Slavin Center. This event helped the Clarke Family raise funds for the Penny Clarke Men's Ice Hockey Endowment Fund. It included a dinner buffet and a cash bar.
"Summer in September" benefits both the Men's Ice Hockey program and the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Miriam Hospital. This program assists patients with chronic pulmonary disease and restrictive lung diseases through evaluation, education, and therapy. Fundraising was collected mainly through silent and live auctions on items that included tickets to the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, signed NHL memorabilia, an overnight stay in Philadelphia and Washington D.C., including dinner and two tickets to a hockey game, and more.
