Future Providence College hockey players Mark Jankowski (St. Catherines, Ont.) and Jon Gillies (South Portland, Maine) were selected in the 2012 NHL Draft which took place on June 22-23 in Pittsburgh, Pa.   Jankowski was picked in the first round (21st overall) by the Calgary Flames and Gillies was taken in the third round (75th overall) also by Calgary.     Eleven Providence College men's hockey student-athletes were named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team on Wednesday, June 20. Seniors Andy Balysky (Randolph, N.J.), Matt Bergland (Faribault, Minn.), David Brown (Centennial, Colo.), Justin Gates (Cranston, R.I.) and Daniel New (White Plains, N.Y.), juniors Myles Harvey (Orlando, Fla.), Kyle Murphy (Fairhaven, N.J.), Chris Rooney (Canton, Mass.), Steven Shamanski (Carberry, Man.) and Alex Velischek (Kinnelon, N.J.) as well as red-shirt freshman Damian Cross (Nepean, Ont.) each earned Hockey East All-Academic Team honors.  READ FULL RELEASE

    Former Providence College hockey standouts Lou Lamoriello '63 and Mark Fayne '10 will lead the New Jersey Devils in the Stanley Cup Finals, beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30 on NBC.  The Devils, who ousted the top-seeded New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Finals, will play the Los Angeles Kings in a best-of-seven series.  FULL RELEASE

    Former Providence College hockey defenseman Mark Fayne '10 recorded a career-high two assists to lead the New Jersey Devils to a 5-3 victory over the New York Rangers on Wednesday, May 23 in game five of the NHL's Eastern Conference Finals at Madison Square Garden.  The Devils lead the best-of-seven series, 3-2, and game six will be at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
